From November 20-21, this year’s 51st Annual D.A. Boyes Society Meeting & Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinical Review was held in Vancouver, BC. This conference brings together a diverse group of OBGYN care providers and clinician-scientists to discuss the latest updates in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. As a part of this year’s meeting, RID Program Lead Dr. Deborah Money and RID Program Investigator Dr. Jeffrey Wong completed a joint presentation entitled “Reproductive Infectious Diseases Updates“. During the presentation, Dr. Money began by sharing the latest findings on maternal and congenital syphilis in BC from the REACT-Syph: Maternal and Congenital Syphilis Surveillance project, as well as summaries of the final findings in regards to COVID-19 infection and vaccination in pregnancy, from the CANCOVID-Preg Project. Dr. Jeffrey Wong spoke on the topic of preventing/reducing severity of infant RSV infection, with specific sections on efficacy and cost effectiveness of maternal/infant immunization strategies, as well as overviews and financial coverage of the currently implemented strategies. Overall, the presentation went very well, with the audience members being very engaged and both Dr. Money and Dr. Wong answering all questions from the viewers effectively.
