New Publication: “Respiratory Syncytial Virus Immunization Review for Prenatal Care Providers”

A new publication authored by RID Program clinician-investigator Dr. Jeffrey Wong and RID Program collaborator Dr. Pascal Lavoie was recently published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada! This publication, entitled “Respiratory Syncytial Virus Immunization Review for Prenatal Care Providers“, provides a background on Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infection in Canada, the currently approved/available RSV immunization strategies to prevent severe RSV infection in infants, patient perspectives on RSV immunization, current Canadian recommendations on RSV immunization, and future directions/developments in the area of RSV immunization. Overall, the document serves to help inform prenatal care providers about infant RSV infection risk and immunization, so that they can have informed conversations with their patients (who my be eligible for RSV immunization in their province) about the topic.
