Strong Showing for RID Program at 2025 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) in San Francisco, USA!

From March 9-12th 2025, the 2025 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections, was held in San Francisco, CA USA. CROI is one of the pre-eminent conferences in the infectious diseases field and is held to provide an annual opportunity for researchers to share their latest research findings regarding the topics of HIV, hepatitis, SAR-CoV-2, M pox, and other retroviruses. This year, RID Program investigator Dr. Jeffrey Wong and RID Program FLEX Project student Rosa Balleny, attended the conference to present a poster on the work they have completed on the impact of the use of the antiretroviral medication Bictegravir (Biktarvy) during pregnancy, on perinatal and infant outcomes. Their poster entitled “Perinatal and Infant Outcomes After Bictegravir Exposure in Pregnancy: A Canadian Surveillance Study”, was presented during the “Antiretrovirals and Birth Outcomes” poster session on the third day of the conference (Tuesday March, 11th). Their poster presentation was received very well, with great interest in the project from conference attendees. Congratulations to both Dr. Wong and Rosa on their successfull presentation!
