On December 28, 2023, as per annual tradition, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada announced the new appointees to the Order of Canada, who are chosen for their extraordinary contributions to various fields and in communities within Canada and around the world. There were 78 new appointments for this 2023 group, which included our RID Program leader, Dr. Deborah Money! Dr. Money was selected for Order of Canada membership, due to her numerous and important contributions to women’s health, particularly in the area of reproductive infectious disease. Her multifaceted work as a clinician, researcher, teacher and mentor were highlighted as important factors in her appointment.
